PAIA Manual (s51, Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000)
This manual is published by ECHO Technologies (Pty) Ltd, the operator of Acorn & Orbit, in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000.

2. Guide of the Information Regulator
A guide on how to use PAIA, contemplated in s10 of the Act, has been compiled by the South African Human Rights Commission / Information Regulator and is available at the Information Regulator's website.
3. Records held
- Corporate records (company registration, tax, employment).
- Customer records (school subscriptions, billing).
- Operational records relating to the platform (account data, configuration).
- Personal information processed on behalf of schools (in our capacity as Operator).
4. How to request a record
Submit a request on Form 02 (private body) prescribed under PAIA to the Information Officer. Include enough detail to identify the record, your contact details, the form of access required, and your relationship to the record.
5. Fees
The prescribed PAIA fees apply. A request fee may be payable on receipt and an access fee may be payable before a record is released, in accordance with the regulations.
6. Grounds for refusal
Requests may be refused on the grounds set out in Chapter 4 of PAIA, including protection of third-party privacy, commercial information, and the safety of persons or property.
7. Complaints
Complaints regarding access to information may be lodged with the South African Information Regulator.
