COPPA Addendum (USA, under 13)
version 2026-06-24 · effective 2026-06-24
Scope
This addendum applies to US schools and to parents in the United States whose child is under 13. It is provided to support compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506.
Verifiable parental consent
Where a US school is the operator, A&O supports the "school authorisation" exception to direct parental consent: the school may consent on behalf of parents for the collection of personal information about a child under 13 solely for the use and benefit of the school. The school remains responsible for obtaining parental consent where required by its policies or state law.
No advertising
We do not show behavioural advertising to children. We do not use personal information collected from children for any commercial purpose other than providing the platform.
Parental rights
Parents may review the personal information collected about their child, request deletion, and refuse further collection. Contact your school first; we will support the school in fulfilling the request.
